Honeywell Thermostat
Honeywell thermostats are used to control the temperature of a room that it provides heating or cooling of a physical system. These thermostats manage the heating and cooling costs of homes.
Honeywell has produced a large variety of thermostats such as Wi-Fi thermostats, heating, and cooling thermostats, , programmable thermostats, the heat pump that can all be controlled and adjusted in a simple way. Honeywell has always made it their top priority to manufacture the best products that are easy to use and provides maximum customer satisfaction.
Manual vs. Programmable Thermostat
Manual thermostats are cheaper than programmable thermostats. They do not provide accurate temperature so more energy is consumed and the expenditure is high as well. Every time someone enters or leaves the room, the thermostat needs to be adjusted. It should be turned off when the building or house is empty to avoid wasting energy.
While a programmable thermostat can be programmed automatically to turn on or off the thermostat according to one’s preferences if the screen is not displayed or changing of the program is needed to be done, then resetting the Honeywell thermostat is the best option.
Resetting a Honeywell Programmable Thermostat
Following are the steps on how to reset a Honeywell programmable thermostat:
Step 1: Turn off the switch of the thermostat. If this is not done, then there is a possible chance that the batteries will leak.
Step 2: Detach the thermostat from its wall plate carefully by removing the screws. This should be done in such a way so as to not damage the screen or impair the device.
Step 3: Next the battery compartment can be opened by inserting a coin into the slot on the door.
Step 4: Remove the batteries of the thermostat.
Step 5: Insert the batteries again but it should be done backward so that the positive pole lines up with the negative terminal and vice versa. The batteries should be left in this way for about 5 seconds.

A temporary hold on a Honeywell Thermostat is an instruction for the thermostat to temporarily maintain the building's HVAC system at a set temperature. The HVAC system will remain set at this temperature until the temporary hold expires. A user can decide when the temporary hold expires.
A user will often set up a schedule for their Honeywell Thermostat. By doing this, the thermostat will follow the schedule and adjust the HVAC system based on the current time. By setting a hold, the thermostat will ignore the schedule and instead keep the temperature consistently at a set level. Simply put, a 'temporary hold' means that the set temperature of the thermostat will be held at a set level for a certain period of time.
There are two types of holds that can be used with a Honeywell Thermostat. These are temporary holds and permanent holds. A temporary hold will keep the HVAC system set to the held temperature for a temporary period of time of less than 12 hours or until the hold is cancelled. A permanent hold will keep the HVAC system set to the held temperature permanently, until the hold is cancelled.
A hold can be set by simply increasing (+) or decreasing (-) the temperature of the thermostat while it is running its normal schedule. Once the temperature has been adjusted, the message 'Hold Until' will appear. This indicates that the thermostat is now in a temporary hold. By clicking on the 'Hold Until' message, a user can set when the temporary hold will expire and have the thermostat resume its normal schedule. A user can also press the 'Hold Until' message and then choose 'Permanent Hold' to set a permanent hold on the thermostat. Clicking the 'Run Schedule' button at any time will cancel the hold.
